Mancherial District Revenue divisions


Mancherial district is a district located in the northern region of the Indian state of Telangana.[2][3] It was a part of the Adilabad district prior to the re-organisation of districts in the state. Mancherial District is carved out of erstwhile Adilabad District. It is surrounded by Asifabad (Kumaram Bheem), Adilabad, Nirmal, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Bhupalpally districts.


The district comprises 18 mandals and two revenue divisions – Mancherial and Bellampalli. The district headquarters is located at Mancherial town.[4]

History


Telangana gets 31 districts to spruce up administration District Administration –Formation/ Reorganization of District, Revenue Divisions and Mandals in Adilabad District – Final Notification - Orders – Issued. TS Revenue (DA-CMRF) Department GO. Ms. No. 221 Date: 11-10.2016[5]

Administrative divisions


The district will have two revenue divisions of Mancherial, Bellampally and are sub-divided into 18 mandals.[6] Smt. Bharathi Hollikeri, IAS is the present collector of the district.[7]

Geography


The district is spread over an area of 4,056.36 square kilometres (1,566.17 sq mi).[9] Komaram bheem, gadchiroli (Maharashtra), peddapalli, nirmal districts towards North, East, South, West respectively.


It shares the border with Maharashtra state





Demographics


As of 2011[update]Census of India, the district has a population of 807,037.[9]



Transport


Mancherial is well connected with all types of transport facilities major are Road and Rail. Mancherial railway station is the train station with code: MCI.


TSRTC has it's depo in mancherial connecting transportation facility to the citizens to every village and city of mancherial district.
