Whittlesford Parkway railway station is on the West Anglia Main Line serving the village of Whittlesford in Cambridgeshire, England. It is 49 miles 1 chain (78.9 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Great Chesterford and Shelford stations. Its three-letter station code is WLF.
The station and all trains calling are operated by Greater Anglia.
It is also near to the villages of Sawston and Duxford and the Imperial War Museum Duxford. The 13th century Duxford Chapel is on the road just east of the station.
The station opened in 1845 and was rebuilt between 1877 and 1890.[1]
In 2007 it was renamed from Whittlesford to Whittlesford Parkway.
Services
Three trains per hour call at the station in each direction throughout the week, with extra trains at weekday peak times. Two run southbound to London Liverpool Street via Tottenham Hale (one is a semi-fast service calling at principal stations only whilst the other serves most intermediate stations then Cheshunt and Tottenham Hale, the third is a semi-fast service to Stansted Airport which only runs during the daytime on weekdays but all day on Saturdays and Sundays). Northbound there are two non-stop trains each hour to Cambridge (one in the evenings on weekdays) and a third that also calls at Shelford. A limited number of weekday peak trains continue onwards from London to Ely and Kings Lynn.[2]
