El Saturn Records is an American record label founded in 1957 by Alton Abraham. It is one of the music industry's first African American-owned record labels, and during the late 1950s and 1960s was one of the most active artist-owned record labels in the country.[1] Notable albums released by the label include works by Sun Ra.
The label is currently owned by James Stubbs-Abraham and Alton Stubbs and is part of Universal Music Group. Recently, El Saturn has released new recordings in genres including hip-hop and rap. Alternative rock artists have also been added to the label as a result of El Saturn's sublabel Afterschool Sound Records.
