Craigentinny Traction & Rolling Stock Maintenance Depot (T&R.S.M.D.) is a railway depot in the Craigentinny area of Edinburgh, Scotland. The depot is operated by London North Eastern Railway with a depot code of EC.
The depot opened in 1904,[2] and is now home to a large fleet of InterCity 125 HSTs, operated by LNER and CrossCountry; the Network Rail New Measurement Train is also maintained here. It also maintains InterCity 225 sets for London North Eastern Railway, Class 220/221 Voyager DEMUs for CrossCountry, and TransPennine Express Class 350 EMUs.[3]
In the near future, Hitachi will take over the operation of Craigentinny, undertaking maintenance on LNER's fleet of Class 800/801 bi-modal units, ScotRail's Class 385 fleet, and TransPennine Express's fleet of Class 802 bi-modal units.
