North American Association for Environmental Education

The North American Association for Experiential Education (NAAEE) is a US-based nonprofit organization. [1]

The organization was founded in 1971 in the U.S. as the National Association for Environmental Education[2] but now includes members from over 30 countries.[2][3]

NAAEE and its 56 affiliate organizations[4] in the US, Canada, Mexico have over 16,000 members;[3] additional affiliates exist outside North America in Asia and Oceania.[5] These partners, many of whom operate at a state or provincial level, have their own conferences, publications, or other activities.[6][7][8][9]

NAAEE holds its own annual conference,[10] supports teacher training in environmental education,[11] supports research demonstrating the impact of environmental education,[12] and produces a wide variety of publications, including Guidelines for Excellence[13][14] in environmental education.[15]

The Natural Start Alliance,[16] a project of NAAEE, works to connect young children with nature.[17]
