Paduvaaralli Pandavaru is a 1978 Indian Kannada language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal. It stars Ambarish, Ramakrishna, Jai Jagadish in lead roles. The film features Dheerendra Gopal and Musuri Krishnamurthy in antagonist roles while Aarathi among others are in the supporting cast.


The movie was an adaptation of the Mahabharata, fit to a rural scenario with some hints to the various clashes between the Pandavas and the Kauravas and to the characters in the epic.


The film was remade in Hindi as Hum Paanch (Us Five) in 1981 which was directed by contemporary film director and cartoonist, Bapu and stars Mithun Chakraborty. It was also remade in Telugu as Manavoori Pandavulu (1978).[1]

Storyline


The story of the movie is known as a modern version of the epic Mahabharata. The movie highlights the clash between village zamindar and five men. Pandavaru word refers to Pandavas of Mahabharata.
